General Update 2
Shows, features, essays, and Cannes.
It’s been a wild couple of weeks, and there’s a lot of exciting things going on and a lot of great news to share, so I thought it’s time for another Look Aside general update. This is most things our company has going on right now:
Next release: Tea or Coffee - Season 2
On this show, random individuals sit on a couch and tell a story completely of their own choosing. We've created this to emphasise the colors of life and prove the mundane does not exist!
Short webseries, season 2. Six episodes. Out May 18th.
Better, brighter, funnier. We haven’t changed the formula much, but we’ve made the episodes shorter and tighter, so you can enjoy on the go. Our storytellers were amazing and we can’t wait for you to get charmed to infinity by them. Stories include: getting seduced by strangers on the street, almost dying by swallowing up metal, dating your boss’ fiancé, and so much more. Out in less than two weeks!
Next in production: Dali
The life & death of Bulgarian-born American-raised rapper Dali From The Valley.
Feature film, drama/thriller/fantasy. In development.
A first feature is no easy task. I can write a lot on everything going on Dali-wise, but for now, the overall update is that we’re officially in development, getting an incredible team together, hammering out logistics, and doing everything we can to make the best film possible. So far, it’s been going great, and this is definitely the most surreal experience of my life - speaking of which, we were featured on Deadline, which is absolutely bonkers.
I’ll be updating a lot more on Dali as we get closer to production, so keep your eyes peeled.
Completed: The White Lotus & The Power of Perspective (Video Essay)
Speaking of surreal, my second video essay has been watched by 35,000+ people, which is also insane, totally flattering, and a turn of events I never anticipated. I’ve always wanted to make a video essay, and I made one for fun, and to hear that people are loving it is really, really touching. Thank you to all those who have watched, and stay tuned too, because this has definitely inspired me to make more. I’ll aim to have video essay #3 within the next month, but I can’t promise anything.
Other: Going to Cannes!
Also crazy, but I’ll be going to Cannes this year. Spending some time with some wonderful people, at some wonderful events, and hopefully seeing the most wonderful films, too. It’s my first time going, and of course, it’s overwhelming - so I will share all Cannes thoughts after the festival, and maybe write some guide (or something of the sorts?) of how I hopefully managed to get the most of my first time going there.
